Colt and I are in the throws of yet another home improvement adventure (more to come, on that, soon!). And this time, it’s the kitchen. I’m beyond excited for the end result, but also suuuuper over the whole “make 100% of your meals in the microwave or toaster oven, while kneeling on the floor in the dining area” thing. It’s only been a week and a day, but I am already wondering how the heck we managed to live in our home through months of flooring, “baseboarding” and who knows what else (Well, I guess I do… But I’ve long, since repressed those memories)!
All the dust and general “messiness” has me feeling pretty nostalgic this morning, so I thought I’d share some photo evidence of the “before” state of our little home, and the gutting process it took to get us where we are now.
I’ll start you off with an over-all rough (and full of cheese-factor) picture of Colt and me, on the day we got the keys…
Also a day #1 picture, upon walking in to our new home. So full of potential. Oh, and… Hi, brand new toilet!
…We got straight to work.
…aaand then it looked like this:
Another potential-filled “first day shot” of our fireplace/part of the living room
The “during” photo, taken about three days later. So. Much. Dust.
The master bedroom on the day we moved in…
The master bedroom after we got our hands on it, a week later. See ya, nasty carpet and popcorn ceilings!
Nothing like coming home to work, after a full day of… work. This particular evening it was the tile in the foyer + a rented jackhammer.
This man is the literal champion of DIY home renovation. ❤
So, there you have it. We have come a LONG way. And clearly it gets a lot worse looking before it gets better. Yikes!
I can’t wait to show you what’s been happening in that kitchen of ours. Happy Monday, all!
Until then, XO
