What are our thoughts on Black Friday and the madness that encircles it? Because let me just say, being on the other side of it all (behind the cash register, as opposed to in front of it) has really lit a little spark of intolerance within me. Fret not, I won’t be jumping on an “anti-Black Friday” soapbox here, but it should be noted that my coworker’s and my Thanksgiving holiday consisted of showing up and accommodating late-night/early-morning shoppers for a sale that is not, and will not ever be exclusive to Black Friday. So why be open on thanksgiving night? Not sure. But it happened, regardless.
Thanksgiving was wonderful, though. Seeing the family for the day and participating in the life-long tradition of watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was quite fun… Despite my being—per usual—the only person in the house who actually enjoyed it (to be fair… the male to female ratio in my family strongly favors those of the testosterone variety).
We headed back that night to get my little LOFT-y self, back to work and then found some time on Saturday to get our first Christmas tree together <insert confetti emoji>. If anyone is looking still, we found ours at Costco and OMGoodness! It’s gorgeous and perfect in the shape/size department (6-7 footer, since we’re living the apartment life). Also we only paid $29.99…for the win.
Anyway, work has been a big thing for Colt and I this month (I work retail, remember?) but I’ll be back in the swing of posting very soon.
Have a great week!
Also, pssst. There’s only 21 days, 16 hours and 5 minutes till Christmas. Whoop, whoop!
