Hey, Twinkle Toes

Everyone knows that sneakers are in. Wear them with dresses, wear them with slacks, shorts, skirts… anything. Stepping in to a pair of fresh, new sneakers is the perfect way to add “casual-cool” to your ensemble and plus, they’re so. darn. comfortable. I’ve been loving the trend, myself, and recently came across a pair of Miu Miu Sneakers that were a bit over-the-top for me, BUT… the seed for gold *kissed* tennies had been sown in my mind, and I wanted my own. I’ll admit that I tried to find a cheap pair of subtly studded shoes online, but had no luck finding any with the right balance of sparkle and sport (so much alliteration…whew!). Currently, I’ve been wearing my classic white Keds on repeat, and since they’re simplicity was the exact base I needed for this little project, I decided to give it a go on my own. They turned out so fun and golden!

P.S. The beauty of this project is the freedom in it. There really is no “wrong way” to do a studded sneaker… just pick your stud and get creative. Below are a few designer versions for extra inspiration.

The steps are easy!  1. Put a dab of glue directly on the back of each stone.  2. Place the stone on the shoe and press it down firmly.  3. Move or adjust the stones while the glue is still wet, if needed.
